Jacquelynne Fontaine on seeing The Phantom from Carlotta’s point of view
October 7, 2015

Jacquelynne Fontaine, who plays Carlotta in the lavish new national tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera, dropped by the DMN studio Thursday to chat about Carlotta (of course), the role of art in building empathy and how her #1 goal while she’s in Texas is to check out Billy Bob’s Texas in Fort Worth.

Jacquelynne, a former Miss California, and Cooper Grodin, who plays The Phantom, also shot 30-second videos that are going to be broadcast at Dallas-Fort Worth gas stations. So if you’re pumping gas and Jacquelynne or Cooper pop up, yes, they really are Carlotta and The Phantom, and they really want you to see their show, which opens Friday and continues through Aug. 24 at the Winspear Opera House.

And did I mention that after our video, they left to perform two shows that day? Here’s my interview with Jacquelynne.
